The short version
This website collects almost nothing about you.
There are no forms to fill in, no account to create, no cookies, and no health information anywhere on it. The only thing measured is an anonymous count of which pages get visited. Nothing here identifies you, and nothing here is sold or shared with advertisers.
The rest of this page explains that in detail, because a privacy policy that just says “trust us” isn’t worth reading.
What this policy covers
This policy is about the website at ethosandauryn.com only.
It is not about therapy. Health information from actual clinical care is handled under a separate federal document — the Notice of Privacy Practices — and lives in a separate secure system. Those two things are deliberately kept apart, and this site is built so that no health information ever touches it.
What the site collects
Anonymous page-view statistics. The site uses Plausible Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without collecting personal information. It does not follow you across other websites, does not build a profile of you, and does not store anything on your device. What the practice sees is aggregate: how many people read the fees page this week, which specialty pages get visited, roughly what country traffic comes from.
Standard server logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which — like every web host — briefly processes technical request data such as IP address and browser type in order to serve the page and block attacks. The practice does not mine these logs or use them to identify visitors.
That is the complete list.
What the site does not collect
To be specific, because generic privacy policies routinely claim otherwise:
- No forms. There is no contact form, no newsletter signup, no intake questionnaire, no comment box. There is no field on this website to type into.
- No accounts or logins.
- No cookies, and no tracking pixels, no advertising networks, no social media trackers, no session recording, no heatmaps.
- No health information. Not a symptom checker, not a screening quiz, nothing.
- No sale or sharing of personal information. There is nothing to sell, and it would not be sold if there were.
If you email or call
If you email shannon@ethosandauryn.com or call the practice, that message and your contact details obviously reach Shannon — that is the point of getting in touch. She uses that information to respond to you and nothing else.
If you become a client, SimplePractice may send appointment reminders by text message. Message frequency varies, standard carrier message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time to opt out.
Email is not a secure channel. Please don’t send detailed health information by email. Once you are a client, the secure portal exists for exactly that, and it is the right place for anything clinical.
Inquiries that don’t become clinical relationships are kept only as long as needed to respond, then deleted.
Where the site sends you
Several links take you off this website:
- SimplePractice — booking, intake paperwork, and the client portal. This is where actual clinical information lives, under its own privacy policy and under a HIPAA business associate agreement with the practice.
- Professional directories — Grow Therapy, Psychology Today, ZocDoc.
- Crisis resources — 988, Crisis Text Line, The Trevor Project, and others.
Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else’s site, governed by their privacy practices. Crisis resources in particular have their own confidentiality rules, and reaching out to them is not reported back to this practice in any way.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal information a business holds about you, and to opt out of its sale.
Practically speaking, this website holds no personal information about you to access or delete. If you have emailed the practice and want that correspondence deleted, ask — it will be done, and you don’t need to give a reason.

Children
This site is intended for adults seeking therapy. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Do Not Track
The site has no tracking to disable, so a Do Not Track signal changes nothing about how it behaves. It was already not tracking you.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date below changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than quietly substituted.
